Where does it hurt?
Physios who fix the pain, find the cause, and gently point out that the cause is your laptop on your lap.
Tap where it hurts. We'll tell you why. You won't like the answer.
4/10Can't ignore it
Fig. 01 · The patient (you)
Tap a glowing point on the body.
We'll guess the cause. We're usually right. It's usually the laptop.
- Sitting is the new smoking. Standing still is the new sitting
- Your phone weighs 200 g. Your head, looking at it, weighs 27 kg
- “I slept funny” is not a diagnosis
- Lift with your legs. Your back has been asking nicely for years
- Pain is information, not a personality
- Do the exercises. Yes, the boring ones. Especially the boring ones
Fig. 02Posture check
Your head weighs 5 kg. Until you look down.
The further you tilt, the more your neck carries. Drag the slider to see what your average workday is doing to it.

The chin is drifting towards the screen. Pull it back.
Load estimates from Hansraj (2014). For fun and motivation, not a diagnosis.
Fig. 03Stretch break
Do one now. We'll wait.
Four desk stretches, 20 seconds each. Free physiotherapy, no appointment, no excuse. Your boss won't notice. Probably.

Now: Chin tucks · 20s
Slide your chin straight back, like you're making a double chin on purpose. Hold. Nobody's looking.
0/4 done. Stop if anything hurts sharply. Mild stretch = good; pain = no.
Fig. 04Recovery roadmap
From ‘ow’ to ‘oh, it's fine now’.
A typical 8-week plan. Yours will be different, because you are different (and so is your excuse for skipping the exercises).
- 1
Day 1
Assessment
45 minutes of questions, movement tests and poking. We find the cause, not just the ouch.
You, probably: “Why does it hurt THERE?”
- 2
Week 1
Calm it down
Hands-on treatment, heat, and 3 gentle exercises. Pain usually drops noticeably.
You, probably: “Okay, this might work.”
- 3
Weeks 2–3
Move it
Mobility and light strength. You'll feel stiff, then suddenly less stiff.
You, probably: “I turned my head today without thinking.”
- 4
Weeks 4–6
Load it
Progressive strength so the area can take real life again: stairs, bags, kids, cricket.
You, probably: “I carried the groceries. ALL of them.”
- 5
Week 8
Graduate
A home plan, a check-in in a month, and a strict warning about the laptop on the bed.
You, probably: “I'm fixed. I'm also doing the exercises. Mostly.”
